Jesus Christ this manga. (Yes, spoilers for chapter 462 ahead.)
( Cut for incoherent ranting. )
Man, that manga used to be fun. Now it's just nostalgic obligation forcing me to sit through it 'til the end.

I spend this weekend studying biology and German for the next important exams on Monday and Tuesday. These are not yet final exams but the grades I get there influence the grade that I will take with me into said final exams. If I fall heavily below that grade or if I do too good, then I'll have to do extra final exams, so... yeah, I'm trying to avoid that.
My companion as I sit here and turn my mass of notes into something coherent is, once again, Death Note. This manga will forever be connected with studying in my head, because last year, also around the prime time for exams, I watched the whole anime inbetween learning. Now I'm reading the manga (hardcore DN fans may now proceed to shoot me for not knowing the 'real' canon and not really caring for about a year). It works well, though. Don't ask me why.
In currently opened chapter five I see a data sheet of Light's dad in L's hands. Hey, Light and I share our birthday, 28th of February. That's one fictional celebrity you clearly want to be associated with. :D
Anyway, I'm turning eighteen this day next week. I'm excited! It means finally posting pictures on a y!gallery account. And, you know, not always first logging out when I want to see something NC-17 on LJ (really, if you bother with protection of minors at all, why make it that easy to avoid?).

Hey everyone!
Since this is supposed to me my journal where I, y'know, occasionally write things into, I'd figure I'd leave a link to one of my "projects",
curiousreviewer, a journal with book and movie rants reviews, yes, I also do actually like some of the things I read and see. Sometimes. Maybe. :)

Here's where my prompt tables for writing challenges go (and, hopefully, the link to the fics when I get them done), as well as links and update notes concerning my multichapter fanfics. Obviously, this post will be updated a lot.

The possibility that I would have French band name (that I couldn't pronounce) and an album title about someone who's involved in chemical engeneering, the one subject I hate more than math, is 0000000,1%. :P Actually, band track 1 and 7 are both about Australia and 6 is French again and 2, 10 and 11 are also districts, 12 is a city in Poland. Seems like my album is very political?

1) Being gay is not natural. Real Americans always reject unnatural things like eyeglasses, polyester, and air conditioning.
2) Gay marriage will encourage people to be gay, in the same way that hanging around tall people will make you tall.
3) Legalizing gay marriage will open the door to all kinds of crazy behavior. People may even wish to marry their pets because a dog has legal standing and can sign a marriage contract.
4) Straight marriage has been around a long time and hasn't changed at all; women are still property, blacks still can't marry whites, and divorce is still illegal.
5) Straight marriage will be less meaningful if gay marriage were allowed; the sanctity of Britany Spears' 55-hour just-for-fun marriage would be destroyed.
6) Straight marriages are valid because they produce children. Gay couples, infertile couples, and old people shouldn't be allowed to marry because our orphanages aren't full yet, and the world needs more children.
7) Obviously gay parents will raise gay children, since straight parents only raise straight children.
8) Gay marriage is not supported by religion. In a theocracy like ours, the values of one religion are imposed on the entire country. That's why we have only one religion in America.
9) Children can never succeed without a male and a female role model at home. That's why we as a society expressly forbid single parents to raise children.
10) Gay marriage will change the foundation of society; we could never adapt to new social norms. Just like we haven't adapted to cars, the service-sector economy, or longer life spans.

Faust, part 1
Reading Level: Done.
Understood: Half. Presumably missed most important subtle points.
And: Still thinking God and Mephisto are among the most funny, witty and cool characters in classical German literature. Still thinking Faust is PMSing and needs to take something against these mood swings. Still thinking Gretchen has the IQ of an average cucumber.
Homework
All done for today.
Fanfiction
3 1/2 pages into the fanfiction that also contains Manax/Tzekel-Kan. I'm slow. And my writing is crappy. Prologue is finished anyway. Also, I write it in a Word document called "Epiclulz".
1 page into "How Tanni met his wife". Pretty sure of being the only person who likes this pairing. Writing anyway. >| Word document's title: "Blaaaaah"
Original Fiction
Fantasy/Satire No.1: Research level.
Fantasy/Satire No.2: On the backburner since two years. Woohoo.
Steampunk/Horror: Joining predecessor at the backburner.
Maya/Historical: RESEARCHRESEARCHRESEARCHRESEARCHRESEARCH RESEARCH.

Hey, I just found a site with four screens of RtED that didn't make it to the film, but are cute anyway. One is, I guess, from the fighting scene between Tanni and Tzekel-Kan that they cut out from the Enter ED scene as Miguel and Tulio enter the city, the other three are Chel. But the real interesting thing is that the Supervising Animator of Tzekel-Kan, Kathy Zielinski, was Supervising Animator for some other baddies, also including Frollo from HoND and some different forms of Jaffar. Also, I didn't know the scriptwriters for RtED also wrote Shrek and Aladdin...
... lol. =)
EDIT: I just looked closer and the Tzekel-Kan pic and realized that while Tanni's design seems to have been constant, Tzekel-Kan looks slightly different. His hair is a bit different, his necklace thingy as well (interesting enough, it once looks like that in the picture book of RtED) and his skirt has those little edges on the yellow lines. They to actually appear in the film, too, for a second. I think it was during the sacrify-scene. Lol again @ unfinished released scene. :)

Yay!
I finished the research about the Maya I needed for the fanfiction (loads of internet and five or six books). Of course, I won't stop reading about the Maya, as I now love it for the topic itself, still want to pick up some ideas along the way of the fanfiction and Mayan politics are likely to become an important part of my final exams (I chose it that way and up to now, it doesn't look like it'll become a problem).
The plot changed through the time I had to think it over. The main villain is now different and Manax as well as the other OCs have (hopefully) gained complexity as characters. All in all, I can't wait to start writing. :3

A friend of mine recently became engaged. Problem, she is sixteen, although turning seventeen soon.
Well, I've been calling her boyfriend her husband for about half a year now. And somehow, it didn't suprise me either. She's the type of girl you just expect things like that from.
I'm not so sure about this thing. On the one hand, it really seems to work very well and it wouldn't totally shock me if this relationship lasts at least another ten years - or for a whole life? I don't know. When I type it out, though... they've been together since a year, and'll probably live up to the age of 85 or somewhat. And seventy years are a damn long time.
Then, she's pretty young and married, you're just not free to do whatever you want to do, travel for a year after you passed your final exams, for example, as many do here in Germany (and elsewhere to, or so I think).
They'd be no sense in picking a fight over this with her, anyway. Technically, she can't get married until she's eighteen, at least not without the permission of her parents, and I don't think they'll give her that, so she has some time to think about it. Up to then and also if she still wants to after she had time to consider it... congratulations. I sincerely hope it works out.

This is former kuroari writing. I changed the name because I really started to hate it. I've only made the account kuroari to join and watch a f-locked community about two years ago, and, well, what do you know, suddenly I found myself posting stuff all over LJ, so I figured I could get a real name. So, this is maiskorn (means "grain of maize" in German).
